Doggie Do’s wants your pet’s experience to be pleasant and as enjoyable as possible. It is important to understand that some pets respond to grooming differently, even with the best efforts. We will make every effort to make it a positive experience. Current Vaccinations/Veterinarian Information: By signing this contract, owners verify their pets are current on Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella and Parvo-Virus. Proof of Vaccination or current Titer testing shall be provided to Doggie Do’s upon request as well as current Veterinarian information. Special circumstances will be taken into consideration. Sometimes preexisting conditions arise unforeseen, such as skin allergies, shampoo allergies, moles, clipper sensitivity, matting and tangles, fleas, fear, behavioral issues, bone or joint sensitivity, heart condition, seizures, etc. It is helpful that you, as the pet owner, inform Doggie Do’s of anything that you are aware of prior to grooming. Aggressive or Dangerous Pets: Owners MUST inform groomer if your pet(s) bite(s), has bitten, or is aggressive to people, other pets or specific grooming procedures. E-collars or muzzles may be used if necessary. Muzzling will not harm your pet and protects both the pet and the groomer. Doggie Do’s reserves the right to refuse/stop services for such pet(s) at any time before or during the grooming process and charge an Aggressive Dog Fee in addition to the regular grooming charge. I also understand that I, as the owner, will take full responsibility for all medical costs, as well as recovery costs, including physical therapy and lost wages should my pet ever injure anyone during the entire grooming process. Health or Medical Problems & Senior Pets: Grooming procedures can sometimes be stressful, especially for a senior pet or pet with health problems and can expose hidden medical problems or aggravate a current one during or after the groom. Because senior pets and pets with health problems have a greater chance of injury, these pets will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort, in styles that will not add to their stress. In the best interest of your pet this contract/agreement will give your groomer permission to obtain immediate Veterinary treatment for your pet should it be deemed necessary by Doggie Do’s. It is agreed that all expenses for Veterinary care will be covered by the pet's owner upon signing this contract/agreement. Mat Removal: Pets with matted coats need extra attention during their grooming session. Mats left in a pet’s coat only grow tighter, and can strangle the pet's skin, or eventually tear it open. Doggie Do’s will not continue to demat a dog. Mats can be very difficult to remove and may require the pet to be shaved. When necessary, removing a heavily matted coat includes risks of nicks, cuts or abrasions due to warts, moles or skin folds trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture and urine near the pet's skin allowing mold, fungus or bacteria to grow, causing skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming process. Torn skin from mats can also harbor maggots. After effects of mat removal procedures can include itchiness, skin redness, bruising, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions from licking or rubbing, and failure of the hair to re-grow. Shaved pets are also prone to sunburn and should either have sunscreen applied daily or should be kept out of the sun until the hair grows sufficiently to protect the skin. In some cases, pets may also exhibit brief behavioral changes. Prevention is the best defense against matting by scheduling regular grooming appointments. There is an extra charge for dematting. Shaving a Double Coat: It is the policy of Doggie Do’s not to shave a double coat. By shaving a double coated breed, you are taking away their ability to self-regulate their own body temperature, putting them at a higher risk for overheating and sunburn. Additionally, you understand that the hair may not grow back the same (regardless of how many times its grown back fine), the hair can grow back patchy, oily, different textures and possibly not at all. By requesting a haircut on a double coated pet, you agree that you understand the risks involved and that Doggie Do’s has explained the risk thoroughly. Accidents: There is always the possibility an accident could occur. Grooming equipment is sharp, even though we use extreme caution and care in all situations, possible problems could occur including cuts, nicks, scratches, quicking of nails, etc. In most cases this can happen when a pet is wiggling or moving around. Every effort will be made to insure your pet is groomed as safely as possible, but an excited pet can be dangerous to continue to work on. If you insist on being present during the process, we reserve the right to end the grooming session, even if the groom is not completed, and the full grooming price will be charged. Parasites: If you suspect your pet has fleas or ticks, prompt and thorough action on YOUR part is needed. Flea infestations can lead to tapeworm and other health problems. If fleas or ticks are found during the grooming process, your pet will be treated with a natural product to kill the parasites and will be charged for. Please note – we will not use pesticide dips or sprays on your pet. Ticks found will be removed for an additional charge. If ticks are found, we strongly suggest you have your pet tested for Lyme Disease. Please note that parasites are a health hazard to your pet as well as to humans. Late Drop off and/or Pick Up: Doggie Do’s makes every effort to have pets here for a limited amount of time. While we understand things can happen, we ask that if you will be late to drop off your pet, please notify Doggie Do’s immediately. Your appointment time slot will be vacated and treated as a walk in, and their groom will be finished in between pets who have arrived on time. Doggie Do’s asks that all pets be picked up within 1 hour after notification that your pet is ready. Failure to do so could result in a boarding fee being added to your total. If you need a later pick up, please plan a time with us in advance. Deposit/No show: A $25 deposit is required to book appointment. This will be applied to total cost of groom at checkout. No shows are subject to a charge of half the cost of total groom on 1st offence and full cost on further offences. Hold Harmless Agreement: By signing this contract your (or your Agent) agree to hold Doggie Do’s, it's owners, operators, employees, officers and directors harmless from any damage, loss, or claim arising from any condition of the undersigned pet, either known or unknown to Doggie Do’s. It is also further understood and agreed the terms of this agreement can change at any time, without notice, and will overwrite any and all prior signed contracts or releases. It is further understood this clause applies to any and all pets groomed. Picture Taking: It is understood that Doggie Do’s may take picture of my pet during the grooming service. Doggie Do’s may use these pictures to promote services offered specifically by Doggie Do’s.
